Dying for Freedom
Guillermo Fariñas Hernández, a lone dissenter. I'm reminded of Tiananmen Square 1989 and a young man who stood down a column of tanks. We know the outcome of that day, China's repressive government prevailed, but not for that young man who, full of grace, stood firm in front of those tanks. I don't know what became of him but I do know that in that moment, by exercising his free will in defiance of the state he became a free man.
Choice, the choice to die for freedom is a solitary decision. "If God wants me to die, I will die. I will be a martyr for the free information in the World." It's in God's hands, he knows the choice he's made, and he knows only a miracle will save him. He knows fidel castro will not allow access to information. He also knows he is a free man, whether here among us or with his maker.
"Socialismo o Muerte" There are useful idiots who praise this slogan, thinking it represents a commitment to something noble for the "people"; we know what it really means.
Pray for Guillermo Fariñas Hernández, and pray for Cuba.
